Joint program for 2010

Permanenten and Bergen Art Museum has joined together in publishing a program of events for 2010.

This brochure has two front covers and no back cover. In the middle is a pull-out calendar.

Bergen Art Museum’s 2010 program started 22 January, with the opening of the exhibition ‘Bloody Serious – Norwegian Art of the 1980s’. In April we present two textile works by Heidi Kennedy Skjerve in Lysverket’s Tårnsal, while works by Mette Tronvoll and Anna-Eva Bergman will be featured at Stenersen in May. In late October Bergen Art Museum will showcase works from Bergen’s contemporary art scene with the exhibition ‘BGO Vol. 1’.

Redisplaying the collection
During 2010 Bergen Art Museum will increase access to the museum’s collections and improve the public’s experience of them. At Lysverket the number of works on show will increase, while at Stenersen the gallery space will be divided into two sections: S tenersen Contemporary and Stenersen Temporary. The first exhibition in Stenersen’s contemporary section is entitled ‘Babylonian Variation’.

Jewellery Circus
Permanenten opens its 2010 season on 20 February with the exhibition ‘In Vesterveg’. This is a North Sea collaborative project with artworks produced on the basis of experiences and impulses from the North Atlantic region. In April the museum hosts the Master’s Degree exhibition for Bergen National Academy of the Arts, Section for Design. During May we are pleased to present ‘Jewellery Circus’ featuring the Dutch artist Felieke van der Leest.

Computer games
Art Museums of Bergen are project coordinator for ‘Ole Bull 2010’. Events related to these celebrations will dominate Permanenten’s calendar from April through August. Among other things, there will be a world-class exhibition of violins, free concerts and a presentation of photos by Tom Sandberg.

The year’s program with culminate with ‘Press Play – the Art of Computer Games’, which investigates the visual universe of computer games. This is the museum’s main exhibition for 2010.

You can pick up a free copy of the 2010 program at any of the museums’ reception areas.
